Abstract

Described herein is an organic opto-electronic device comprising a cathode comprising at least one zero-valent metal; an anode; an opto-electronically active organic material; wherein said cathode is in contact with at least one organic ammonium salt. In certain embodiments, the organic ammonium salt has structure (I), wherein R1-R4 are independently at each occurrence a C1-C20 aliphatic radical, a C3-C20 cycloaliphatic radical, or a C3-C20 aromatic radical is disclosed and wherein X- is selected from the group consisting of monovalent inorganic anions, monovalent organic anions, polyvalent inorganic anions, polyvalent organic anions, and mixtures thereof.
