Abstract

With respect to a conventional latch mechanism having a driving mechanism on a horizontal plane, a handle and an operation rod are integrated by the latch mechanism provided by the present invention so a wedging member disposed at an end section can be upwardly/downwardly driven. The latch mechanism provided by the present invention is linked with an operation of a finger hanging section 14 of the door handle 12. The operation rod extending in upward and downward directions can rotate about the axial center, so one or both of the wedging members provided at the top section and the bottom section of the door is wedged or released from a frame section of a frame member, characterized in that: a wedging convex section 18T that rotates with the rotation of the operation rod is provided; an L-shaped member 20 that is substantially in an L shape is provided near the height of the wedging convex section; one end of the L-shaped member 20A points in substantial up/down directions, and the cross section of the end 20A and the other end 20B is served as a horizontal pivotal shaft 20J and can rotate about the rotation shaft.
