Abstract

A method of generating and applying a one-time password (OTP) in network transactions is disclosed for generating a special one-time password to each on-line transaction. The OTP is obtained by utilizing transaction identification data such as transaction types and transaction dates, and the OTP is sent to clients via another route such as short-messages. On-line transaction is permitted only when the OTP matches the transaction contents to thereby avoid crises caused by a AOL Trojan program and network fishing .
