Abstract

Disclosed is a digital signal processing for flat display having non-uniform regions, not by film-material, optics or fabrication process. Therefore, the production cost and complexity of the flat display is not negatively affected. In this digital signal processing, a light-on test is performed on the panel for identifying all pixel locations in non-uniform regions and non-uniform types. Then, input video signal are judged based on the test result for deciding whether the video signal is located upon non-uniform region or normal region. Then the non-uniform compensation on the video signal is based on the non-uniform type, so that the non-uniform regions do not negatively affect the video signals displayed on the panel.
