Abstract

A filing implement and a locking device thereof, which make it difficult to access to the whole of the locking device from the outside, can enhance a protection function provided by the locking device by using a dedicated locking release tool, and further, can adopt a thin and simple structure for the whole of the locking device. The filing implement includes a file body including an open portion for documents and the like to be taken out therefrom and housed therein, an open/close plate coupled to the file body by a hinge and capable of opening/closing at least partially the open portion, a locking device provided between the open/close plate and the file body, and a key plate which releases a locked state of the locking device. The locking device includes an engagement piece provided at a free end of the open/close plate, and a body member including an engagement groove to be locked by insertion of the engagement piece. The body member is provided on an inner face of the file body.
