Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and a circuit for driving a plasma display (PDP). Driving signals are applied to sustain electrodes and scan electrodes of the PDP. Whether for application to the sustain or scan electrodes, the driving signals are composed of sustain pulses, auxiliary pulses and zero voltage. Either the sustain or the auxiliary pulse, or both of them simultaneously, can consist of a positive pulse and a negative pulse with a lower voltage potential. Therefore, electronic components of low-power consumption can be used in the driving circuit of the PDP. Thus, the manufacturing cost as well as sustain currents of the driving circuit can be reduced, and the brightness and lighting efficiency of the PDP can be improved.
