Abstract
It is an object of the present invention to form a liquid crystal display device which can provide a bright display in the reflection mode operation, and to improve the flatness of a surface of a substrate of a color filter plate. Accordingly, it is possible with this invention to improve the overall quality of images of a display apparatus. The improved solutions of the present invention is to install a reflection function layer which employed as partial reflection of the incident light provided between a coloring layer and a transparent electrode. According to said structure, the incident light will reflect in the direction of the observer and does not pass into the coloring layer, so that can obtain high levels of brightness in reflection mode operation to prevent a drop in display quality. As far as the reflection function layer is concerned, it can exemplify a transparent layer with high refractive index or a semi-penetration-film, etc.
