Abstract

A zigzag stitch sewing machine comprises a needle stand fixed to one surface of a rotary shuttle under a needle board. The needle stand is formed by making a portion thereof open, and the needle stand has a supporter surface to support the needle-point of a needle and a guiding surface to guide the needle-point to the supporter surface. Among the structure of the needle stand, on one side of a foot connecting to the needle stand, a cutoff is formed by cutting a portion of the supporter surface (including the foot). The cutoff functions to easily adjust the connecting state between the supporter surface of the needle stand and a needle, and suitably keep the relative position between the needle supported on the supporter surface and a hook point which rotates in synchronization with the rotary shuttle, to thereby realize good quality sewing.
