Abstract
To solve a problem of scale eduction due to insolubilization of an inorganic ion in a nitration tank when a nitrogen compound in waste water containing the nitrogen compound and the inorganic ion are treated by carrying out nitrite type nitration. An apparatus for treating the waste water containing the nitrogen compound and the inorganic ion includes a nitration tank 1 for aerating the waste water containing the nitrogen compound and the inorganic ion to oxidize the nitrogen compound into a nitrite nitrogen, scale prevention means 2 and 3 for preventing the inorganic ion from forming scale and a pH adjustment agent adding means 2 for keeping a pH in the nitration tank 1 neutral or alkaline.
