Abstract

A yarn heater 1 is proposed, especially for use in a false-twist texturing machine, comprising a heating zone 3 which has a yarn passage 5, at least one heating wall 7 disposed on said yarn passage 5, heating means 9 provided for heating said heating walls 7 and yarn guides 11 disposed in said yarn passage 5 wherein the yarn guides 11 are disposed such that a threadline 13 predefined by said yarn guides 11 has a zigzag shape. The yarn heater is especially suitable as a primary heater for heating a polyamide yarn in a false-twist texturing process.
