To provide a hardcoat film which is excellent in optical property and has no uneven transmitted light and reflective light, and an information recording medium which may conduct recording and regeneration via optical means or magnetic means using the film. Moreover, a hardcoat film and an information recording carrier excellent in storage stability and avoiding the occurrence of the flaw in a light-inputting surface is provided. The hardcoat film is made by coating at least one hardcoat layer on a resin material which contains an alkaline metal carbonate crystal having an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more. Moreover, an information recording carrier which may regenerate information signals via optical means is characterized in that it comprises, at least, a carrier, a recording layer which may record information signals, and a light-transmitting layer which transmits light, the light-transmitting layer consisting of a resin material which contains an alkaline metal carbonate crystal having an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more.
