Abstract

This invention provides a pipe joint that connects sanitary piping with each other in a water tight manner without using packing. The pipe joint in this invention comprises a short pipe member 10 with a tubular protruding part 14 protruding in an axial direction so as to extend an inner diameter part of the short pipe member 10, a round part 14a with a cross section of a circular arc shape being formed on an outer peripheral end part of the protruding part 14 over the whole periphery. A large diameter part 24 in which the protruding part 14 can be fitted is formed on the other short pipe member 20, and a taper part 24a whose diameter is reduced continuously in a depth direction toward an inner diameter of the short pipe member 20 is formed on a bottom surface of the large diameter part 24. The short pipe members 10, 20 are clamped between each other by a clamping member 30, and the round part 14a is brought into press contact with the taper part 24a.
