Abstract

The invention relates to a bone screw (1) comprising a threaded shank (5) with a longitudinal axis (2), a length L, a front end (3), a rear end (4) and a thread (6) that has a thread profile P. The external diameter D and the pitch of the thread (6) remain constant over the length L and the thread profile P reduces towards the rear end (4) of the threaded shank over at least one section of the length L. The thread profile P at the core (7) of the threaded shank has a constant width b, measured over the length L.
