Abstract

A method for operating a robot in an automatic material handling system (AMHS) includes indicating a token to a first port for pre-setting to process a first corresponding job item of the first port, processing a second job item with the robot while the second job item locates in a different section to the first job item but in a same section to the robot and of waiting for being processed to the section of the first job item, processing the first job item with the robot, and moving the token off from the first port.
