Abstract

Geliştirilen bu sistem ile bir yerleşim bölgesindeki tüm trafik akışının izlenmesi, yoğunluk oluşan bölgelerde trafiğin tıkanmasının önüne geçilmesi ve trafik işleyişinin herhangi bir sıkışıklık yaşanmadan olabilecek en yüksek hızda duraksamadan akışının sağlanması ve bölgesel trafik akış hızı standardının getirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sistemin temeli eğer Trafik Yoğunluk Bölgelerine(TYB) doğru ilerleyen araçların yaklaşma hızları TYB den belirli bir mesafe öncesinde TYB deki trafik şartlarına, etki edebilecek diğer iklimsel, sosyal ve tarihsel parametrelere göre değişken olarak kontrol edilebilirse trafiğin sıkışmayacağı, yoğunluğu artabilir ama olabilecek maximum hızda akışkanlığının sağlanacağı mantığı üzerine kuruludur. Buna göre bir şehirdeki TYB'ler belirlenir. TYB ye belirli mesafe uzaklıkta Hız Bildirgecleri(HB) yerleştirilir. TYB ile HB arasındaki mesafe TYB deki yoğunluk derecesi, coğrafi koşullar, şehir yerleşimi ve ayarlanabilecek hız limitlerine göre değişkenlik gösterebilir. Serbest hızlarla ilerleyen sürücülere Hız Bildirgeci ile Trafik Yoğunluk Bölgesi arasında HB deki bildirilen değerde sabit hızda gitmeleri gerektiği belirtilir.
