Gray cast irons are used for casting brake drums. These cast iron have low mechanical and operational properties, which leads to a significant consumption of cast iron. , C The average hardness of the metal, made of cast iron of the grade SCh18, used for casting brake drums, is 170-229 HB according to GOST 1412-73.
The reduced hardness of the cast iron causes increased wear and reduced strength leads to the destruction of the brake drums during the operation of automobiles and tractors. The increased nose of the material of the brake drums, in addition to increasing the volume of their production in factories, causes additional costs for the replacement of parts and

Closest to the invention, the technical essence and the achieved result is cast iron 2, the following chemical composition, weight. % Carbon. 2,5-, 0 Silicon 1,5-.0 Manganese Up to 2.0 Molybdenum and nickel 0.1-1.5 0.2-1.5 One or more carbide-forming elements: boron, chromium, niobium, phosphorus, titanium,. tungsten, vanadium 0.01-0.02 Magnesium 0.03-0.1 Iron Rest The disadvantages of the known iron are low wear resistance, strength and high cost due to the use of a large amount of expensive nickel, molybdenum materials in smelting, niobium, tungsten which is unacceptable for mass production of parts, as well as poor technical logic, since the process of inputting alloying elements is complicated due to when changing magnesium. The purpose of the invention is to increase wear and durability. The goal is achieved by the fact that cast iron containing carbon, silicon, margan chromium, nickel, titanium, vanadium, boron, copper and iron contains components in the following ratio, wt. %: Carbon. 2.5-, 5 Silicon1.5-2.2 Manganese1.0-1.5. Chrome 0.05-0, t Nickel 0,01-0,5 Titanium 0,01-0,5 Vanadium 0,1-0,7 Bor 0,01-0,15 Copper 0,1-0,3 Iron. Other Chemical composition, physic -mechanical properties of the proposed cast iron are shown in the table. The upper limit on silicon is lower than that of the known 2, since, at Si 12.2, the friction properties of cast iron are unfavorable. Nickel doping with copper, nadium, and chromium improves the mechanical properties of gray iron. In the case of nickel, the whitening effect of chromium was significantly weakened. Nickel alloying limits are reduced due to the fact that it stabilizes austenite and contributes to the formation of residual austenite in the structure, which adversely affects the wear resistance of cast iron. An increase in the limits of doping with vanadium and titanium leads to an increase in their influence on the metallic base of gray iron, which increases the tensile strength and wear resistance of cast iron as a result of the formation of solid dispersed complex V-Tt carbides. An increase in the content of vanadium and titanium above the upper limits leads to the bleaching of pig iron, which is a rejection feature in the production of brake drums. The alloying of the proposed cast iron with copper permits an increase in wear resistance and strength due to the perlite structure. The reduction in the copper doping limits is due to the fact that an increase in its content above the upper limit has only a minor effect on the increase in the limit. And strength does not affect the durability. Increasing the total chromium content allows an increase in the hardness of the iron to be achieved. The beneficial effect of chromium is enhanced when it is introduced into cast iron along with vanadium. Increasing the chromium content above the upper limit results in chilling the cast iron, which lowers its strength. To increase the wear resistance of cast iron, the limits of doping of cast iron with bromine are increased. The addition of boron improves. uniform distribution of solid inclusions in the iron structure and increases its hardness. Increasing the boron content above the upper limit makes the iron brittle, turning it from gray to white. Increasing the strength and durability of brake drums from the proposed cast iron allows to obtain an economic effect in the amount of 1,171 thousand rubles.
