Abstract

A drive element (1) is used for displacing a tool carrier (2), on which there is fastened a workpiece (5) which is machined by a grinding wheel (4). The adjustment of the drive element (1) is controlled via a switching device (7) which is connected to a first sensor (9) and to a second sensor (3). The first sensor (9) is used for establishing the end of the contact of the tool (4) with the workpiece (5). The second sensor (3) is used for establishing the beginning of the contact of the tool (4) with the workpiece (5).
