Description
The invention relates to electrical processing and can be used in mechanical engineering for surface doping and restoring the dimensions of machine parts. The known method of electrospark alloying of metal products, in which the reinforcing material in the form of ferropowders is held in the interelectrode gap by a magnetic field 1. However, the known method does not allow an increase in the thickness of the diffusion or expanded layer to be obtained without increasing the spark power, which leads to the formation of craters and impairs the quality of the surface of the product. The purpose of the invention is to better melt the particles of ferropowders and increase the thickness of the doped layer by increasing the temperature in the discharge zone. The goal is achieved by introducing exothermic mixtures consisting of oxides of doping metals and reducing elements mixed in a stoichiometric ratio into the composition of ferropowders. As a result of the exothermic reaction between oxides of doping metals MeO, for example, ResO4, GrjOa, MoO3, VjOj. and others, and Me reducing elements (for example | A1, Mn, Zr, Ti, etc.) form the oxide of the reducing element and the reduced metal, for example, chromium, molybdenum, etc., which improves the quality of the Meo + Me alloyed material + Me + Q. The thermite leaked out is included in the heat balance of the process and makes the alloying elements melt. In order to check for wear resistance, experimental electric-spark treatment of the same type of gray cast iron samples was carried out using ferrous powders made of sulfurous iron and iron sulfide with the addition of an exothermic mixture of chromium oxide and aluminum. Electrospark doping is carried out from the EFI-46 installation at the discharge current I p 5A. Studies have shown that the thickness of the alloyed layer increases 1.2-1.5 times, the wear resistance increases c.2-2.5 times.
