Description
(54) METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF POLYMER MOLECULES
This invention relates to polymer chemistry, in particular to the field of developing methods for non-destructive testing of materials. In particular, it can be used to determine the degree of crosslinking of polymer molecules as a result of heat treatment and radiation. A method is known for determining the degree of crosslinking of polymer material molecules, which consists in dissolving the crosslinked polymer and separating the low molecular weight fraction (sol) from the high molecular weight fraction with crosslinks ( gel). The closest to this is the well-known method for determining the degree of crosslinking of polymer molecules by comparing the characteristic parameter — photoluminescence intensity — of the test and reference samples 2. The sample is exposed to a fixed amount and the change in photoluminescence intensity after cooling is recorded. However, the known method for determining the degree of crosslinking of polymer molecules is not possible. If the excited state of the polymer molecules is capable of rapid internal redistribution ergii excitation of natural vibrations m. Among such a property possessed by all karbodepnye polymer (polyisobutylene, etc.-) and some heterochain polymers not containing macromolecules or linear polyaromatic conjugated structures (polyamides, cellulose, polivinilfurfural). The aim of the invention is to make it possible to determine the degree of crosslinking of chain-chain and hetero-chain polymers that do not contain polyaromatic and linear conjugated structures. This goal is achieved by introducing a stable nitric acid radical into the polymer matrix and using the molecular mobility determined from the spectra of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of a stable nitroxide radical as a characteristic parameter. The feasibility of the method is based on the following physical assumptions: the molecular mobility of the polymer determines All1 (the physical and physicochemical properties of the condensed phase and can be determined by the susceptibility of the stable radicals introduced into the polymer matrix; the stable radical introduced into the polymer matrix is defect and prevents the formation of a crystal lattice in the place where it is located. With an increase in the density of the polymer, the intensity of segmental movements of amor decreases. of the rf phase; this manifests itself in an increase in the rotational correlation time of the stable nitrogen – F-radical radical. The rotational correlation time is a determining parameter of the rotational friction, is an important characteristic of the dynamic properties of the medium, it actually carries information about the structure and local movements in the matrix in which this radical is found. The change in Tg is proportional to the change in the density of the polymer, and since the stable radical feels the nature of the polymer, the change in its density correlates with the structuring processes and stitching. i Reference samples are obtained by heat treatment or irradiation with a certain dose of γ-radiation. After which a correlation is found between
