Получение метакриловой кислоты из монохлоризомасл ных кислот в литературе не описано. Лвтором найден каталитический способ отщеплени  хлористого водорода от а- и р-хлоризомасл ных кислот. Сущность способа заключаетс  в том, что смесь а- и р-хлоризомасл ных кислот пропускают над активированным животным или растительным углем под уменьшенным давлением в присутствии вод ного пара при температуре 150-300°.
