Description

The invention aims to produce, for certain types of paper, in the composition of which wood pulp is included, a sizing without the addition of rosin. For this purpose, a mixed plant and animal sizing method is used, in which the required resin soap is obtained when preparing the pulp with alkaline treatment of the pulp on runners or in rolls.

The following two process options are proposed:

In the first embodiment, the pulp is milled under runners with a weak solution of caustic sodium (caustic soda), and the treatment with a solution of caustic sodium can last the entire time required to obtain the desired pulp grinding; Grinding can be carried out without heating, although in order to improve the saponification of resinous substances and to obtain a better sizing of paper, weak heating with bare steam is necessary.

The wood pulp thus treated is set to roll in quantity.

После приблизительно 15-ти минутного перемешивани  бумажна  композици  должна совершенно заклеиватьс  и может считатьс  готовой дл  изготовлени  бумаги на машине .corresponding to the composition, and grinding in the roll continues until the end. Approximately Va hours before the end of grinding the paper composition, a solution of gluten is added and after about 4 hours, i.e., after the mass is well mixed, an alumina sulphate solution is added. After approximately 15 minutes of mixing, the paper composition should be completely sealed and can be considered ready for papermaking on the machine.

In the second variant, the treatment with a weak solution of caustic sodium (caustic soda) is carried out in the roll itself, i.e. the grinding of the fibrous material takes place in a weak alkaline medium, where also the saponification (emulsification) of resinous and fatty substances occurs; approximately Va hours before the end of the grinding, as in the first method, a solution of gluten is added and, after approximately 15 minutes of stirring, a solution of sulfuric acid alumina is added; the pulp (composition) should
