Description
The general opinion, especially among pharmacologists, that the current principle of ichthyol is a mixture of ammonium salts of sulfo derivatives, available in shale resins and containing sulfur products (hence the name ichthyol Ammonium Sulfoichthyolicum) is incorrect. The author and a number of works by Sheybler have found that the active principle of ichthyol is a mixture of thiophenes (contaminated with hydrocarbons), whose presence in different shale resins should be considered proven and which partially remain unchanged when they are sulfonated as an admixture to the sulfonic derivative. The role of sulfosalts in ichthyol is reduced, as the author was convinced, only to peptization of the thiophenic impurity when diluting ichthiol with water, and thus their role is similar to that of soluble soap in the preparation of products such as lysol, creolin, etc. that if you select pure thiophenes or even a mixture of them with hydrocarbons from the corresponding shale resins, instead of taking sulfammonium salts, take some soluble soap for peptizing thiophenes, or instead simply dissolve these thiophenes or a mixture of them with a carbohydrate rows in some indiferentnom solvent such as petrolatum, lanolin, olive
Если предварительно еще подвергнуть тиофеновую смесь очистке от всех имеющихс в ней плохо пахнущих и даже вредных примесей, должен получитьс вместо плохо пахнущего и загр зн ющего бель ихтиола-новый препарат, превышающий последний по силе терапевтического действи и свободный от присущих ихтиолу недостатков.oils, etc., then a drug should be obtained that is not less therapeutically active than ordinary ichthyol. This drug should be the more active, the higher the concentration of the thiophenic mixture. Since the partial tarring, polymerization and partial oxidation occur during the sulfonation of thiophene, which follows from the fact that sulfur dioxide is released during sulfonation, when a sulfosalt is replaced with a soluble soap or indifferent solvents, a cleaner and more active product can be expected. If the thiophene mixture is cleaned beforehand from all badly smelling and even harmful impurities in it, it should be obtained, instead of the badly smelling and contaminating ichthyol, a new drug that exceeds the therapeutic effect of the latter and is free from the inherent ichthyol deficiencies.
The experience justified the expectations, since the preparation thus obtained was no less active than ichthyol, and turned out to be a clear white product (or slightly yellow if thiophenes were dissolved in lanolin or olive oil), with a faint and pleasant smell. very different from the bad smell of ichthyol.
The method for preparing the proposed preparation is as follows.
From slate resin containing sulfur (for example, the Volga shale), a portion boiling to 250 ° (until a noticeable start of decomposition) is distilled off at a reduced pressure or with superheated steam in an amount of about 50% of the dewatered oil; With the new distillation of this distillate, about 50% by weight of the product is obtained, which already does not show any signs of decomposition during distillation even at ordinary pressure. This portion is subjected to purification in the following sequence: 1) 10 / oh sulfuric acid to remove nitrogen containing impurities such as pyridines, pyrrole, etc., 2) soda to remove acids, 3) o / o sodium hydroxide solution removing phenol-like impurities, 4) IV to IJ with a weight amount of oxidizing agents, best of all, manganese-acid potassium (may be a chromium mixture, but this is worse), which is introduced as a dry salt into a non-homogeneous mixture of 1 part thiophenes with hydrocarbons and 2 parts water during cooling and good mixing, and this operation is repeated twice: 5) distilled off from the steam treated product was further bisulfate, binding ketones or aldehydes formed upon the action of an oxidant; 6) the product is further processed cold with a solution of caustic soda, then
серной кислотой, водой до нейтральной реакции на лакмус и перегон етс при обыкновенном или уменьшенном давлении .sulfuric acid, water to a neutral reaction to litmus, and distilled under ordinary or reduced pressure.
The product obtained as a result of this treatment is collected in an amount of about 10% of the weight of the original shale oil, and a product containing up to 12–12 ° C of sulfur is obtained from the Volga, for example, shale. The resulting preparation is therapeutic and, taken in the above-mentioned solvents in an amount of 2, 5, 10, 15 / o / o, etc., the review on the case when it is applied is not inferior to ichthyol in action.
The subject matter of the invention.
The method of preparation for replacing ichthyol, characterized in that the fraction of sulfur-containing slate resin boiling up to 250 ° after secondary distillation is sequentially cleaned with sulfuric acid, soda, caustic soda, oxidizer, for example, potassium permanganate, and then distilled off the product is treated with a solution of bisulfite with steam, then treated in the cold with sodium hydroxide solution, then with sulfuric acid, and finally, after washing with water, it is distilled under reduced or ordinary pressure.
