Description
The work process of electric arc welding consists of the moments: 1) ignition of the arc between the electrodes (electrode and product), 2) maintaining the arc that has already formed, during which time the electrode melts, i.e. welding. A small power is sufficient to ignite the arc (ionization of the gap between the electrodes), but a relatively high voltage is necessary, for example, for cold electrodes located at distances of 0.2-0.3 mm on the order of 1000 V. To maintain the same arc, power is required, which is determined by the actual value of the operating current depending on the thickness of the product to be welded and the electrode and by the low voltage of the welding arc. The implementation of the moments of ignition and maintenance of the welding arc by one generator makes it necessary to count this generator, on the one hand, on the voltage needed to ignite the arc (idle mode), and on the other hand, on the arc current. Thus, the nominal installation capacity of the welding generator, which determines its cost, weight and cost of material on it, is much higher than its working capacity, which is very unprofitable. The use for ignition of the arc of preliminary contact of electrodes and their preheating

током короткого замыкани , протекающим по сварочному контуру, хот и требует сравнительно незна чите ьного напр жени пор дка 50 - 60 V, но может повлечь за собой приваривание электрода к изделию и порчу последнего.the short-circuit current flowing through the welding circuit, although it requires a relatively small voltage of about 50-60 V, but may entail welding the electrode to the product and damaging the latter.
In the proposed device for electric welding on alternating current, the electrical circuit of which is shown in the drawing, it is proposed to eliminate these drawbacks by applying as a welding generator a three-phase asynchronous machine operating in the electromagnetic brake mode (i.e., when the rotor rotates from the external motor in the opposite direction rotation of the stator floor of the specified machine), to the rings of the rotor of which the welding circuit is attached.
The drawing shows the electrical circuit of the proposed device.
Two asynchronous motors 1- / with slip rings, coupled by clutch 2, are powered by an alternating three-phase current, and the rotation of the magnetic fields of the motors are opposite to each other. In the rotor of the first engine, a starting rheostat 5 is turned on. When turning on the switch 4 and removing the starting rheostat 3, two engines will rotate in the direction of rotation of the magnetic field of the first engine. In this case, in the rotor of the second engine, in mind
е. второй двигатель будет работать, «ак асинхронный сварочный генератор с падающей внешней характеристикой.large skins will be induced by a large electromotive vortex, which through its rings is supplied to the item to be welded 5. When the control rheostat 6 is set, the desired no-load voltage will excite the welding arc. Touching the electrode and burning the volt arc, the rotor of the inner motor will be closed and will inhibit the initial rotation, which will reduce the slip, as well as lowering the voltage, i.e., the second engine will work, "asynchronous welding generator with a falling external characteristic.
