Abstract

The steam jet vacuum pump contains a vertically installed hermetic housing (1) having a flange (2) for connection to a volume to be pumped out, and an outlet socket (3). Arranged in the lower part of the housing (1) is a trough (6) which is filled with working fluid and is equipped with a heater (7). Installed in the housing (1) along its longitudinal axis is a steam line (4) having nozzles (5), provided in the direction of the height thereof, for the exit of the jets of the working fluid vapour. Located in the housing (1) in the area where the foot of the steam line (4) is arranged is a hydraulic closure (8) which ensures overflow of the condensate into the trough (6). The cooling system for cooling the housing (1) is designed in the form of a tube (9), which is wound spirally onto the housing wall and has sockets (10) for the supply and removal of coolant. In this arrangement, a part of the wall of the housing (1) is formed by stiffening ribs which consist, in the section of the winding of the tube (9), of concave sections (11), which are arranged in the winding direction, are in contact with tubes (9) accommodated in them and have a radius of curvature that is essentially equal to the outside radius of the tube (9), and of conical sections (12) connected to said sections and tapering in the direction of the steam jets emerging from the nozzles (5). <IMAGE>
