Description
The invention relates to medical light therapy equipment and can be used to treat proctological patients,
The purpose of the invention is to reduce the treatment time and reduce postoperative complications by increasing the effectiveness of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation on the injured area of the rectum.
Figure 1 shows the proposed irradiator, General view; figure 2 - structural design of the fiber.
10.The irradiator comprises a housing 1 with a UV radiation source 2 installed in it with a light reflector 3, a light guide 4 with an emitter 5. a restriction ring 6, a hollow quartz cylinder 7, a truncated cone 8, a hemispherical head 9, and an internal reflective coating 10.
The irradiator operates as follows.
The part of the optical fiber 4, which is inserted into the rectum, is made in the form of a cone 8 with a taper of at least 0.33 for better scattering of radiation and its painless introduction into the cavity. In the cone 8, there is a circular portion transparent to light for the emitter 5 without reflective coating 10, the length of which with a fiber diameter of ¢ 1 = 12 mm is I 11 = (2-2.5) d, with a total length of cone 8 of 3d, and total fiber length 1 = (6-7.5) d. The length of the conical part I 1 -3d. When the device is turned on, the radiation of the UV radiation source 2 is focused by the light reflector 3, directed to the end of the optical fiber 4 located at the focus of the reflector along the optical axis, clamped in the diaphragm clamp, and then goes through the emitter 5 to the object that is irradiated with the entire circular lateral surface of the cone 8. The spherical part of the reflective coating 10 inside the hemispherical head 9 reflects the unexposed part of the light in the opposite direction and through the transparent window the emitter 5 also gets on the irradiated object. The depth of introduction of the cone 8 into the cavity is limited by a removable ring 6, which is set in the required position according to the procedure before the procedure begins. The implementation of the irradiator provides the possibility of circular UV irradiation of a section of the rectum with a length of at least 24 mm with a single introduction of the fiber into the rectum, which eliminates additional injury and re-irradiation unavoidable when using cylindrical transparent fibers.
