Abstract
The invention relates to linear accelerometers for measuring the acceleration of objects of various classes and purposes. The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of measurement of accelerations. In the process of measurement, the radiation from the light source 1 passes through the polarizer 2, the main axis of which is directed vertically along the measuring axis, the quarter-wave phase plate 3, the photoelastic element 4, the compensator 6, the analyzer 7 to the photodetector 8. The deformation of the photoelastic element 4 under inertial load transmitted mass 5, leads to a change in the degree of birefringence, while the output signal from the photodetector is a measure of the measured acceleration. Due to the fact that the compensator 6 is made of the same material as the photoelastic element, has the same shape and thickness along the axis of the optical channel and is turned by its main optical axis by 90 ° to the photoelastic element, the accelerometer is temperature compensated. 1 il.

Изобретение относитс к измерению параметров движени , в частности к линейным акселерометрам с фотоупругим чувствительным элементом, и может быть использовано дл измерени ускорений объектов различного класса И назначени .The invention relates to the measurement of motion parameters, in particular, to linear accelerometers with a photoelastic sensitive element, and can be used to measure accelerations of objects of various classes and purposes.
The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of measurement of accelerations. The drawing shows a simplified construction of a piezo-optic Accelerometer.
8.; The piezo-optical accelerometer contains a light source 1, a polarizer 3j a quarter-wave phase plate-, liy 3, a photoelastic element 4, an inertial mass 1) an ion mass 5, an equalizer 6, an analyzer 7, a photodetector 8.
Accelerometer works as follows
Radiation from the light source 1 Passes through the polarizer 2, the main axis of which is set vertically (in the direction of the measuring axis), the quarter-wave phase Plate 3, the main axis of which 4 is set at 45 to the vertical, the photoelastic element 4 with an inertial mass 5 attached to it, the compensator 6, the analyzer 7, the main axis of which is set at an angle of 90 to the vertical, a photodetector. 8 The main axes of the photoelastic element and the compensator are set respectively at angles O and 90- to the Vertical.
The accelerometer works as follows.
If there is a measurement of the accelerator and the photoelastic element is subjected to compression or stretching, the composition of the birefringent light passing through the photoelastic element 4 changes. In general, the photocurrent photocurrent 8 can be determined by formula
I - I соз() sin 28 Ф , (ОI - I cos () sin 28 F, (O
где К - коэффициент пропорциональноти , завис щий от мощности илучени источника света}where K is a coefficient of proportionality, depending on the power and radiation of the light source}
Фр,Ф - величины естественного дву- лучепреломлени в фотоупругом элементе и компенсатореФр, Ф - values of natural birefringence in the photoelastic element and the compensator
Q - угол, главной оси анализатора по отношению к вертикали ф - величина двулучепреломлени , вызванного измер емым ускорением .Q is the angle, the main axis of the analyzer with respect to the vertical φ is the magnitude of birefringence caused by the measured acceleration.
е. Л Ф .When the ambient temperature changes due to linear expansion, the thicknesses of the photoelastic element and the compensator change. The magnitude of the birefringence of light passing through the photoelastic element will be F + LF. Since the compensator is made of the same material and of the same thickness as the photoelastic element, the magnitude of the birefringence of the light passing through the compensator will be (), i.e. L f.
In this case, formula (1) at Fd of 20 Fo and is converted to the form
f ix f ix
I 2 N This allows us to conclude that the diagram of the piezo-optical accelerometer is not sensitive to the instability of the ambient temperature, and the output signal from the photodetector
вл етс мерой измер емого ускорени .is a measure of the measured acceleration.
