The drawing shows a structural diagram of a polarization-optical — 20th measuring device.
13.The first 1 and second 2 radiation sources are optically coupled through the first 3 and second 4 shutters with the first 5 and second 6 photodetectors. The primary 25 converter 7 is optically coupled through the first polarizer 8 to the third radiation source 9, and through the second polarizer J0 to the third phatoreceptor 11. The first 12 'and the ed of the second 13 engine are mechanically connected to the first 3 and second 4 obturators and the first 8 and . second ~ T0 polarization tori. The differential frequency former 14 is connected by inputs to the first 5th : second 6 photodetectors, and the output to the frequency meter 15 and the reference input of the synchronous detector 16, the other input of which is connected through the delay block 17 to the output of the third photodetector 11. The output of the synchronous detector 16 is through a constant amplifier 18 current is connected to the second motor 13.
Polarization Optical Measurement. The device operates as follows 45.
The primary transducer 7 can be, for example, a Faraday cell made in the form of a rectangular contour spanning the ed bus with a measured current.
16.The radiation from the third radiation source 9 passes through the first rotating polarizer 8 and becomes linearly polarized, and the plane of polarization of the radiation rotates with the speed of the first polarizer 8. The azimuth of the plane of polarization of the radiation transmitted through the primary transducer 7 differs from the azimuth of the plane of polarization of the radiation entering the primary transducer 7 by angle proportional to the measured value. Then the radiation passes through a second rotating polarizer 10 ^ becomes modulated in intensity and is converted by the third photodetector 11 into an electrical signal. Having passed the delay unit 17, this signal receives a phase shift proportional to the delay and the modulation frequency, and is fed to the input of the synchronous detector 16.
15.The streams from the first 1 and second 2 radiation sources are interrupted by the obturators 3 and 4 and converted by the photodetectors 5 and 6 into electrical signals with a frequency determined by the rotation speed of the polarizers 8 and 1 0. From these signals, the differential voltage generator 14 generates a reference voltage supplied to the second the input of the synchronous detector 16. At the output of the synchronous detector 16, a voltage is formed, which, passing the DC amplifier 18, controls the second motor 13, i.e. the rotation speed of the second polarizer 10 so that the output voltage of the synchronous detector 1 6 tends to zero. In this case, the relation Θ = - С (Д ( - ¢, (~ delay time of block 17), i.e., the measured angle of rotation of the plane of polarization is proportional to the difference between the rotation frequencies of the polarizer 8 and 10, measured using a frequency counter 15, is valid.
