The invention relates to instrument engineering and is intended to measure low gas flow rates. The purpose of the invention is to improve the measurement accuracy. The film-bubble flowmeter contains a reservoir 1 and a reservoir 2, interconnected with each other and partially filled with a solution of a surfactant, a vertical burette 3, a piston 5, made in the form of a glass filled with liquid and interacting with the actuator 6, a gas supply tube 7 connected to the air cavity of the tank 1, and the bypass tube 8, one end of which is located in the cavity of the piston 5, and the other is connected to the air cavity of the tank. This embodiment ensures the formation of only one film in each measurement cycle, since during film formation, an uncontrolled gas stream escapes into the atmosphere. 1 il.
Description
The invention relates to instrumentation, namely, devices for measuring small gas flow rates and during calibration and calibration of flow meters.
The aim of the invention is to improve measurement accuracy.
The drawing shows a film-bubble flowmeter.
5The film-bubble flowmeter contains a reservoir 1 and a reservoir 2 communicating with each other and partially filled with a solution of a surfactant. A burette 3 with a scale 4 is vertically installed in the tank 1, and a piston 5 interacting with the reciprocating drive 6 and made in the form of a glass filled with liquid. The gas supply tube 7 and one end are connected to the air cavity of the tank t. bypass tube 8, the other end of which is located in the cavity of the piston 5
The flow meter works as follows.
3.The measured gas through the gas supplying tube 7 enters the reservoir J. The gas flow rate is measured cyclically according to the speed of the film in the buret 3.
At the beginning of the cycle, the piston 5 is in the up position. The level of the surfactant solution in the tank 1 is below the bottom end of the burette 3. Then, when the drive 6 is turned on, the piston 5 is lowered into the lower position, displacing part of the solution from the tank 2 into the tank 1. At this level the solution in tank 1 becomes higher than the lower the end of the burette 3. When the piston 5 is lowered, a liquid is poured in with it. The amount of this fluid is chosen so that at the transition of the piston 5 from the upper polo

8.the lower end of the bypass tube 8 was opened. The gas entering the tank 1 through the gas supplying tube 7 is freely released into the atmosphere through the bypass tube 8.
Subsequently, the piston 5 returns to its upper position, the level of the solution is lowered, and at the lower end of the burette 3 a part of the solution is retained in the form of a film due to surface tension forces. The mass of the solution contained in the film depends only on the diameter of the burette 3 and the properties of the solution. Therefore, with the same properties of the solution, the mass and thickness of the film are constant and the pressure drop created by the film at a constant flow rate of the gas to be measured, which can be taken into account when adjusting the flow measurement error.
After the piston 5 moves to the upper position, the end of the bypass tube 8 is immersed in the liquid. Gas through the bypass tube 8 does not flow. Under the action of gas, the film begins to move in the burette 3, which has a constant cross section along its length, therefore the speed of the film movement is proportional to the gas flow rate. The speed of the film is measured visually on a scale of 4 or by means of electro-optical sensors that can be dispersed along the length of the burette.
The flow rate of the gas to be measured is defined as the product of the velocity of the film moving by the area of the inner cross section of the burette 3. After the film leaves the burette 3, the measurement cycle can be repeated.
