Description

Electrochemical methods are known to saturate a zinc-based solution using a cathode made of electrochemically active nickel oxide. However, with these methods, the useful anode time of dissolution of zinc is limited by the amount of the electrochemically active substance in the cathode, i.e. the electrochemical capacity of the cathode.

A distinctive feature of the described method is that a non-charged uncharged nickel oxide electrode is used as a negative electrode. Such a method of drying zincate solution prevents the release of metal at the cathode in the preparation of concentrated zincate solutions.

The essence of the proposed method is that an uncharged metal-ceramic, nickelless nickel oxide electrode having a low overpotential in the evolution of hydrogen is used as the cathode.

The low overvoltage in the evolution of hydrogen at the cathode used leads to the fact that during the electrolysis of zincate solutions, instead of zinc, only hydrogen is released on it. The elimination of zinc release at the cathode makes it possible to conduct the electrolysis of solutions practically indefinitely at various current densities at the cathode.

The proposed method provides - obtaining zincate solutions with a high content of zinc and can be used, for example, in electrochemical studies of anodic processes in zincate solutions when it is necessary to have a constant concentration of zinc in solution.

An electrochemical method for saturating a zincate solution that is different. - by the fact that, in order to obtain a concentrated solution and prevent the release of metal at the cathode, a non-charged uncharged nickel oxide electrode is used as a negative electrode.
