Description

Methods are known for measuring the temperature of melts, in that a graphite sighting tube with a deaf bottom is immersed in the melt, the upper part of which is connected to a radiation pyrometer. When temperature is measured by these methods, graphite oxidation products are formed in the sighting tube, which introduces an error in the measurement results.

In the proposed method, this drawback is eliminated by the fact that the oxidation products of graphite are removed from the pipe by blowing it with nitrogen, which is fed into the pipe through the nozzle and out of it through holes in the unloaded part of it.

The drawing shows a sight pipe for measuring the temperature of the melts by the proposed method.

The tube contains a graphite sighting cap J immersed into the melt, which is worn on the connecting tube 2, to which is attached, and the protective armature 3 is attached a radiation pyrometer telescope 4. Nitrogen is fed into the fitting 5 to remove the graphite oxidation products 5 parts of the pipe.

Prev, Invention

The method of measuring the temperature of the melts using a radiation pyrometer, working in conjunction with a vizier graphite pipe with a deaf bottom, characterized in that, in order to increase the measurement accuracy, the oxidation products of graphite are removed from the pipe by blowing it with nitrogen, which is fed into the pipe through a fitting and withdrawn from it through openings in its not submerged part.
