Description

Blast furnaces are known that have two rows of blown tuyeres, one of which is intended to supply an oxygen-rich blast. However, the design of these furnaces does not allow for an increase in combustion over the cross section of the furnace.

The peculiarity of the proposed blast furnace is that, in order to increase productivity by increasing active combustion on the furnace cross section, an additional row of elongated water-cooled blast tuyeres is made in the furnace hearth, through which additional air or oxygen is fed under pressure 4 -10 atm

FIG. 1 shows the horn of a blast furnace, vertical section; in fig. 2 - the same, a cross-section but А-А.

5.The horn of the described blast furnace has two rows of blast tuyeres. The tuyeres 1 of the main row are located in the upper zone of the forge, and the elongated tuyeres 2 of the second, additional row are located in the lower part of the forge and protrude inside the furnace towards its center. Hot blast to the lances of the main row is supplied from the annular air duct 3, and air and oxygen are supplied to the lances of the additional row via pipeline 4. Below the lances of the additional row is a slag tap 5.

Such an arrangement of the blast tuyeres makes it possible to increase the productivity of the furnace by loosening the charge column, reduce fuel consumption by equalizing the temperature over the hearth section, and it is also more profitable to smelt ferroalloys in the blast furnace.

Subject invention

A blast furnace for smelting ferroalloys, characterized in that, in order to increase productivity by increasing the combustion area in the furnace cross section, an additional row is built into the furnace.
