The crystals have a diameter of 30-35 mm with good optical and structural perfection.
Data on growth modes and quality of crystals are summarized in the table.
As can be seen from the table, the melt suction before puffing at a pressure significantly higher than 0.1 NJM.PT.CT does not reduce the defectiveness of the crystals. An increase in the holding time of the melt under reduced pressure of higher than 10 min leads to a decrease in the quality of the crystal due to the evaporation of the charge components. In crucibles of small diameter (40 mm) gas bubbles have time to ascend and burst within 1 minute. A decrease in pressure above the melt below 0.1 mmHg is inexpedient, t, because even at a given pressure, conditions are created for the ascent and burst of gas bubbles.
Compared with the prototype, the number of defects such as gas bubbles is reduced by at least 5 times in the single crystals obtained. The described method makes it possible to significantly increase the optical quality of KNHG crystals, reducing the low-angle light scattering by a factor of 10, and make them suitable for use ij laser
