Abstract

FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing furfurol jointly with saccharides from pentosane raw materials using hydrolysis of pentosanes and dehydration of pentoses in presence of 8-94% sulfuric acid at 150- 180 C and 0.5-1.0 MPa pressure with simultaneously steam-stripping off furfurol followed by washing of cellolignine residue and its hexose hydrolysis with 0.5-0.7% sulfuric acid at 170-190 C and 0.8- 1.3 MPa pressure. Power consumption and process time are reduced when cellolignin residue, prior to be hydrolyzed, is washed with 0.2-2.0% acetic acid solution at 60-90 C. As source of acetic acid , furfurol column distillate or its mixture with condensate from evaporation of after-yeast brew may be utilized. EFFECT: intensified process and reduced cost.
