Description
Existing methods for the analysis of nitrogen-containing organosilicon compounds, based either on the determination of nitrogen in them by the usual method of elementary analysis, or on the elimination of nitrogen in the form of ammonia or an organic amine and their subsequent determination by known methods of quantitative analysis, are very complex and require a lot of time to complete.
The proposed method for the rapid quantitative determination of nitrogen in organosilicon compounds 1 and x, the nitrogen of which is either directly bound to silicon atoms or is in the side chain of an organic radical, is that, in order to reduce the duration of the analysis, the analyte is first dissolved in the mixed solvent consisting of acetonitrile and benzene or natromethane and dioxane, and then titrated by potentiometric or visual methods with a solution of perchloric acid in anhydrous acetic acid. PROCESS OF ANALYSIS
A 50 ml glass is placed in a 0.04-0.1 g sample of nitrogen-containing organosilicon compound and dissolved in 6 ml of acetonitrile or nitromethane. Then add the same volume of benzene or dioxane, respectively, and proceed to titration. The working solution is 0.1 n. perchloric acid anhydrous acetic acid solution. The titration is carried out using a LG1-5 lambsotentnostiometer with glass and calomel electrodes. The titration data is plotted and an equivalence point is determined from the graph.
As can be seen from the graphs, the amount of perchloric acid solution, which went into interaction with various nitrogen-containing organosilicon compounds, is directly dependent on the number of nitrogen atoms in the analyzed compound.
In the case of visual definite equivalence points, the sample is dissolved in a small conical cone.
Изменени окрасок совпадают со скачками потеициометрического титровани .Use the same amounts of the indicated solvents. To the resulting solution, 1 keel of the indicator was added and the titration proceeded. Equivalent titration is determined by the color transition of the indicator. Color changes coincide with jumps in potentiometric titration.
For performing visual titration nitrogen-containing organosilicon compounds can be recommended, for example, the following indicators: crystal violet, bromocresol purple, bromophenol blue, cresol red, dimethylaminoazobenzene (as a solution in acetonitrile O.), thymol blue, methyl red and orange dimethyl (as saturated solutions in acetonitrile).
The results of the quantitative determination of nitrogen-containing organosilicon compounds by the method of non-aqueous titration (the first row of numbers - the results of the potentiometric method, the second - the indicator method) are described in the table.
