The drawing schematically shows a liquid refrigerant separator, General view.
The separator comprises a housing I, a vertical pipe 2, a pipe 3 and a pipe 4 for feeding through it and a pipe 3 into the pipe 2 of a liquid throttled refrigerant. Pipe 5 is used to drain liquid refrigerant from pipe 2 to a refrigerated device (not shown), pipe 6 is used to supply wet refrigerant vapor from a refrigerated device, pipe 7 is used to drain dry refrigerant vapor into a regenerative heat exchanger of a refrigeration machine (not shown), pipe 8 - to drain liquid refrigerant and lubricating oil into the same regenerative heat exchanger. The horizontal partition 9 divides the separator into the upper and lower cavities, the nozzle 10 in the partition 9 is designed for emergency discharge of liquid refrigerant and oil from the upper cavity into the lower cavity, the separator, and the nozzle 10 has a droplet eliminator 11 on top, the nozzle 12 in the partition 9 is designed to discharge the throttle a pair of refrigerant from the lower cavity of the apparatus to the upper one, the tube 13 with a shut-off valve 14 is designed to periodically drain liquid refrigerant and lubricating oil from the lower cavity of the apparatus into a cooled device. The height of the vertical pipe 2 is almost equal to the height of the lower cavity of the separator, which should be not less than the difference between the maximum and minimum levels of liquid refrigerant supported in the cooled device at various thermal loads.
The liquid refrigerant separator operates as follows.
Liquid refrigerant from the condenser or receiver of the chiller through the control valve (not shown), pipe 4 and connecting pipe 3 enters the vertical pipe 2. Due to the evaporation of part of the liquid, the refrigerant is cooled to a temperature equal to the vapor pressure in the separator, and enters the cooled device, and the resulting throttle vapor through the nozzles 10 and 12 is discharged into the upper / nude cavity of the separator. The liquid refrigerant boils in a refrigerated appliance, and the resulting wet vapor of the refrigerant with drops of lubricating oil through the pipe 6 enters the upper cavity of the separator. Due to a sharp change in the speed of movement of wet steam in the upper cavity of the separator, droplets of liquid refrigerant and lubricating oil are separated, fall onto a horizontal partition 9 and continuously flow by gravity into the regenerative heat exchanger of the refrigeration machine 5 installed in front of the compressor. There, through the pipe 7, dry refrigerant vapor • comes from the device to be cooled. Drops of liquid refrigerant are boiled off in the heat exchanger, and oil is gravity drained into the compressor.
0 In the emergency mode of operation of the refrigeration unit, which occurs when a large amount of liquid refrigerant is suddenly boiled and emitted from the device to be cooled into the separator, drops of refrigerant and oil 15 also separate in the upper cavity of the separator from the wet refrigerant vapor and fall onto the partition, as in normal mode work refrigeration unit. However, in this case, the excess part of the liquid refrigerant and oil are drained through the emergency discharge pipe 10 into the lower separator cavity. The accumulating liquid through the tube 13 with the valve 14 open is periodically drained into the cooled device when its level in the lower cavity of the apparatus exceeds the permissible one. During the discharge of this liquid, the supply of liquid refrigerant to the pipe 2 from the condenser of the refrigeration machine is temporarily stopped. The droplet collector And is designed to prevent direct contact with a droplet of refrigerant and oil in the pipe 10 during normal operation of the refrigeration machine. The bore sections of the nozzles 10 and .12, as well as the height of the nozzle 10 are such that in emergency operation in the heat exchanger, all the liquid refrigerant entering it evaporates. In a refrigerated device, the liquid refrigerant boils and carries droplets of lubricating oil from it to the upper cavity of the separator, from where it returns 40 to the compressor through the pipe 8 in normal operation mode of the refrigeration unit.
