сл S ю О5 ю ьо 00The invention relates to a measurement technique and can be used to determine the change in the diameter of a core of optical fibers during a drawing process. The aim of the invention is also to determine the magnitude of the change in diameter by comparing the magnitude of the flux from the initial 6 and curved 7 sections of the light guide. The light guide 5 is passed through a block of rollers 2-4, thereby bending it in accordance with the dependence found, the radiation from the illuminator 1 is directed along the tangent to the bent section 7 of the optical fiber 5, and the photodetector 8 records the amount of light flux from the initial section 6 of the fiber 5, in block 10, this value is memorized. The values of the luminous fluxes from the initial 6 and curved 7 sections of the light guide 5 are compared. When the diameter of the fiber varies in the course of drawing, the value of the luminous flux changes, and the signal from the photodetector 8 changes. and 9, in the computing unit 10, the difference is determined (From their values. 1 Il. Description

The aim of the invention is also to determine the magnitude of the change in diameter by comparing the flux values with the initial and curved portions of the fiber.
The drawing shows a diagram of the device that implements the method.
10.The device contains an illuminator 1, a block of calibrated replaceable rollers 2-4 installed rotatably around the axes, a light guide 5 having an initial 6 and a curved 7 sections, two photoreceivers 8 and 9, one of which (8) is installed in the zone of the bent section 7, another (9) at the output of the light guide 5, and the computing unit 10.
The method is implemented as follows.
Пропускают световод 5 через блок роликов 2-4, производ тем самым его изгиб в соответствии с найденной зависимостью, направл ют излучение от осветител 1 по касательной к изогнутому участку 7 световода 5, посредством фотоприемника 8 регистрируют величину светового потока с начального участка 6 световода 5, в вычислительном блоке 10 величина этого потока запоминаетс .The dependence of light transmission on the bend radius for an exemplary fiber is determined. This dependence is used to determine the bend radius, which ensures that the operating point is located on the section of the clearly expressed dependence. The light guide 5 is passed through a block of rollers 2-4, thereby bending it in accordance with the dependence found, the radiation from the illuminator 1 is directed along the tangent to the bent section 7 of the optical fiber 5, and the photodetector 8 records the light flux from the initial section 6 of the optical fiber 5, in the computing unit 10, the value of this stream is stored.
5.A comparison is made of the magnitude of the light fluxes from the initial and curved sections 6 and 7 of the light guide 5.
Moreover, before registering the magnitude of the luminous flux from the initial section, a change is made in the magnitude of the luminous flux from illuminator 1 to the magnitude of the signal taken from the photodetector 9 and corresponding to the signal value in the case of an exemplary light guide. When the diameter of the core of the fiber changes during stretching, the magnitude of the luminous flux passing through the curved section 7 changes, and the signal from the photodetector 8 changes. Based on the values of the signals taken from the photodetectors 8 and 9, their difference is determined in the computing unit 10 values.
