Description
In the described device for measuring the signal-to-noise ratio in a radio receiver in a mode close to the operating one, it is proposed to use a test sinusoidal signal modulating the carrier voltage applied to the receiver input. At the output of the video amplifier receiver, two filters are installed, one of which passes the test signal, suppresses interference, and the second passes only interference, suppresses the voltage of the test signal. Measuring instruments are added to the output points of the filters, indicating the magnitude of the voltage of the useful signal and the magnitude of the interference voltage, as a result of which it is possible to determine the signal-to-noise ratio in the operating mode of the device, close to the operating one, simultaneously measuring both the signal magnitude and the magnitude interference.
п.In the literature, such devices for measuring the signal-to-noise ratio are not described, and the existing methods for measuring it. for example, using an oscilloscope, do not provide the necessary accuracy, since the magnitude of the observed range of interference largely depends on the quality of the focusing of the scanning beam, the screen brightness, the scanning speed, etc.
The block diagram of the device as applied to the measurement of the signal-to-noise ratio at the output of the television receiver video amplifier is shown in the drawing.
The input of the high-frequency part of the receiver 1 is supplied with a sinusoidal voltage ie ..: frequency taps / modulated by the voltage of the practical sinusoidal signal with a frequency F f, and from the output of the video amplifier 2, the test voltage together with the noise comes: to the input of two filters 0i, fz.
Filter F is tuned to frequency F, where its resistance is close to zero. Therefore, a signal with frequency / passes through this filter and there is no interference for which the filter resistance is large.

F.Instrument I) at the output of the filter measures the magnitude of the test signal with a frequency F.
The FC filter is also tuned to the frequency F, therefore the signal with the frequency F does not pass through the filter, and interferences with frequencies other than F pass through the filter, hitting the measuring device P, which measures their value.
To take into account the visual perception of interference between the F-2 filter and the H2 device, you can turn on the Fz filter, whose attenuation frequency characteristic will take into account the dependence of the visual perception of interference on their frequency spectrum. When testing television receivers, it is convenient that the frequencies of the test signal F are equal to the horizontal scanning frequency / lines.
The sigpal-interference ratio for any particular type of television receivers, bearing in mind the predetermined magnitude of the sinusoidal voltage at the input of the CRT 3, can be determined directly in decibels by instrument II, for example, if you apply an additional logarithmic scale on it
