Description
Quarterly relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, namely, the production of aluminum by the electrolysis of cryolite-alumina melts, and concerns the installation of the cathode device of an aluminum electrolyzer. There is a known method for mounting bottom sections of aluminum electrolysis cells, which includes laying the power supply rod into the groove of the carbon block and then pouring the assembled section with cast iron {jll. Closest to the proposed invention is a method of mounting the bottom section of an aluminum electrolysis cell, comprising laying the current lead rod and steel gaskets into the groove of the carbon block and filling the gap with iron separate into each cell formed by refractory partitions 2. The disadvantage of this method is that when the hearth is heated during firing up to 920-960 0, the current supplying rod expands to a much greater degree than the lherodist block, due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficients, which leads to the formation of troubles | Up groove of the block at an angle of 45. Taki: in this way, the destruction of the bottom under the pressure caused by the expansion of the rod leads to a decrease in the service life of the bottom and an increase in electric power loss due to an increase in contact resistance nor from the destruction of the block. The aim of the invention is to increase the service life of the bottom and to reduce the total energy loss. The goal is achieved by the fact that, according to the method of mounting the bottom section of an aluminum electrolysis cell, into the key to an acadym appartment of the power supply rod and steel gaskets into the groove of the carbon block and casting the gap with iron separately into each cell formed by refractory partitions, gaskets are laid tight to the longitudinal wall of the groove with their subsequent removal after pouring and cooling of the gum, while the thickness of the gaskets is 0.4-1.0% of the width of the current-carrying rod. The selected intervals are limited by the following factors. The use of gaskets with a thickness of more than 1.0% of the width of the current-carrying rod leads to deterioration of the contact, and less than 0.4% - to the formation of cracks in. the angles of the groove of the block when heated rod. When the section is mounted in the slot of the unit, a current-carrying rod and gasket are installed, then cast iron is cast. After the iron casting has cooled, the gasket is removed from the section. Steel can be used as a gasket material. The drawing shows the coal block of the bottom section. The block contains a cast iron fill 1, a gasket 2, a block 3 with a groove and a current-carrying rod 4. Example. In a carbon block size of 40x55x140, having a groove of 26x15; viM, a steel rod of 23x12x160 mm is placed, then a gasket 0.1 mm thick (0.44% of the width of the rod is placed along one side of the groove and cast iron is cast. After the iron cools, the gasket is removed. P and measure 2. The sample is prepared according to the previously described method using a 0.15 mm (0.65%) thick gasket. Example 3. The sample is prepared using a 0.2 mm (0, 87%). The prepared sections are placed in an electric resistance furnace and maintained for 2 days, after which the resistance is measured After the cooling of sections, they are removed and the number of cracks in carbon block B is determined. The measurement results are shown in Table 1. Thus, the use of gaskets in cast iron, after which they are removed, makes it possible to compensate for the uneven thermal expansion of the steel rod and carbon block. preventing the destruction of the blocks, in addition to preventing the destruction of the block, thereby reducing the voltage drop at the contact of the current-carrying rod of the block. The application of the proposed method will allow to increase the service life of the bottom, due to the prevention of the destruction of the blocks and to reduce the voltage drop at the contact of the current-carrying rod of the carbon block by 3 mV. The expected economic effect from the reduction of the voltage drop at the contact of the current-carrying rod - the carbon block will be 6 thousand rubles. to the electrolysis shop.
