Abstract

The subject of the invention belongs to the field of procedures for electronic speed control in road traffic by way of electronic devices for monitoring and control of vehicles - drivers by satellite navigation considering information on speed limits with the aim of providing safe driving. The procedure for electronic speed control in road traffic and the device according to this procedure for electronic tracking of the permitted speed and continuous informing the driver as well as sanctions for speeding is characterised in the fact that the continuous informing of the driver about the maximum permitted speed is performed with the help of the existing GPS network and identification of GPS coordinates of a point within a speed electronic grid which from this particular point on defines the maximum speed which the driver can see displayed inside the vehicle. A comparator compares the maximum permitted speed and the speed of the vehicle, while if the maximum speed is exceeded it informs the driver about it by way of sounding an alarm. If the driver does not reduce his speed to the permitted level, an offence module is activated which deducts the corresponding amount from the credit card for offences. In case of exceeding the time ti defined for driving under offence, the module for deducting the credit from the credit card for offences will be activated. If during the time t2 the driver will not reduce his speed to match the speed limit, an audio alarm is sounded as a warning that within time t3 the module shall activate the limiting of the driving speed to for example 50 km/h.
