Abstract

The invention is based on the problem how to provide a turbo compressor housing concept featuring reduced weight, while it would provide a simpler and more cost-effective manufacturing process which should also result in more environment-friendly housings compared to the currently known ones. The turbo compressor housing for motor vehicles according to the invention consists of at least two parts (1, 2) produced according to processing requirements of plastic materials, which when assembled and provided with a non-detachable link result in the turbo compressor housing (9). The manufacturing procedure of the turbo compressor housing for motor vehicles consists of the following steps: in the first step at least two parts (1, 2) are made individually in specially designed tools/moulds for processing plastic materials. In the second step these two components (1, 2) or these components (1, 2, 3) are assembled so that they form an housing (9). In the third step these two components (1, 2) or these components (1, 2, 3) are linked together, particularly by welding into a non-detachable assembly.
