Abstract

AutonomousMosquito Control Method and apparatus () to collect and destroy the eggs of water breeding insects like mosquitoes operating autonomous without human intervention. The apparatus (1) consists of four main components. An ovitrap (1000), an ovitrap handler (2000), a local manager (3000) and a global manager (4000). Insects deposit their eggs into the ovitrap (1000). The ovitrap handler (2000) destroys the content of the ovitrap (1000) before collected eggs can develop into adult insects. As the current insect population dies without off-spring, the insect population of the targeted insect species diminishes. Figure 1 41
