Abstract

TRANSACTION FACILITATION A method for use in facilitating at least one transaction between a user and one or more merchants, the method including, in one or more electronic processing devices: (a) receiving for each transaction, a transaction request from a merchant terminal, the transaction request including: (i) an indication of a processing code for a purchase transaction; (ii) an indication of a purchase transaction amount; and, (iii) an indication of a proxy account identifier; (b) determining an indication of a user account linked to a proxy account using the proxy account identifier and link data indicative of associations between proxy accounts and user accounts; (c) sending an incremental pre-authorisation request to a user account issuer in accordance with the purchase transaction amount; and, (d) in response to successful pre- authorisation from the user account issuer, causing the transaction with the merchant to be processed using account information associated with the proxy account.
