Abstract

Centrifugal separator with a rotor, which forms an inlet chamber (13), a separation chamber (5), which is delimited from the inlet chamber (13) by means of a departing wall (12), a discharge chamber (19), which communicates with the separation chamber (5). In the separation chamber (5) a stack (11) of separation discs is arranged. Centrally a part of the departing wall (12) extends through the stack (11) radially inside the inner edges of the separation discs. To be able to distribute the flow equally in the interspaces between the separation discs the discharge chamber is formed by this part of the departing wall in such a way that the discharge chamber (19) is delimited radially outwardly towards the separation chamber (5) by a substantially cylindrical portion of this part of the delimiting wall (12) and delimited axially by a first and a second annular end wall (20, 21) extending radially inwardly from the cylindrical portion at a distance from one another. The first end wall (20) delimits the discharge chamber (19) axially towards the inlet chamber (13). The discharge chamber (19) communicates with a central portion of the separation chamber (5) via at least one channel (22), which has an inlet opening axially inside the stack (11) of separation discs and an outlet opening in the discharge chamber.
