Abstract
The panel has an air inlet opening (2) at the bottom. The incoming air (10) may be forced in by a pump or fan (14). There is a closed sheet or housing (1) at the front, made of a transparent layer followed by an opaque layer designed to trap light and solar energy. Air impelled by the pump may flow up the tapered channel between this housing and the front of a porous block (8) of non-transparent material. The pores in this block of material may consist of straight channels (9) passing straight through from the front to the back. After passing through the porous block the air passes through a chamber which widens toward the top, between the block and a rear wall (6). Air passes through a second channel (3) into the space behind the panel.
