Abstract

The invention relates to a method for reinforcing rectangular or circular beam and pillar structures (1) made of a material such as concrete, iron or wood, etc., by applying a superjacent reinforcing layer (3). The reinforcement (3) consists of fibre material such as carbon fibres, glass fibres or vegetable fibres bonded into a matrix (6, 7) by a thermo-setting plastic such as epoxy plastic, unsaturated polyester plastic or polyurethane plastic, etc. An optimized fibre concentration is obtained in the matrix (6, 7) by building up the reinforcing layer (3). This also provides protection against the weather and wind during the hardening process.
