Abstract

A load carrier has a load holder 10, which is situated behind a vehicle 1 and which is disposed on or constitutes a part of a bearing device 9. The bearing device 9 can be swivelled away from the region behind the vehicle 1 about an approximately vertical axle 13. In order to allow the load carrier to be fastened without encroaching on the vehicle 1, the bearing device 9 has at least one but preferably two arms 8 which extend up over the roof 3 of the vehicle 1 and which there, pivotably about the vertical axle 13, are fixed in a holder 5,6 which extends transversely over the roof 3 of the vehicle 1 and which is fixed in the side edge regions of the said roof. <IMAGE>
