Abstract

The yarn store and feed unit (1) for a textile machine, and especially a loom, has at least one directional blowing jet between the feed end (Z) at the unit (1) and an outlet (11) of the store winder. It can be activated independently of at least one directional blowing jet (33) between the outlet (11) and the guide opening (22). The mechanism (A) to activate the system switches between a partial fault setting (II) where at least one directional jet (32) is activated between the entry (Z) and outlet (11) of the winder, and a total fault setting (I) where more directional blowing jets (32.33) are activated than the single jet (32), and pref. all the available jets are activated. The activating mechanism has one section which operates alone or together with the other section, the be switched from one mode to the other according to the jets which are required. The activating mechanism (A) has a manual change-over switch (18), or it is operated by an automatic control (52). ADVANTAGE - The appts. reduces the work needed to repair a fault, with rapid correction of a partial fault with a yarn break than with a total fault. The unit can identify the nature of the fault, and take corrective action automatically, to pass in a broken yarn end or a reserve arm.
