Abstract

A brushing apparatus, which is intended to be mounted on machinery in order to be supported and driven forwards by this machinery, has a chassis 1, a horizontally disposed, cylindrical brush 7 which is mounted so as to rotate on the chassis 1 in order to brush a surface 9 by rotation as the brushing apparatus is driven forwards, and an essentially arch-shaped screen 15 which is mounted on the chassis 1 and extends along the brush 7 in the upper front section thereof. The screen 15 is mounted on the chassis 1 in such a way that it can be turned between a first position, in which it extends along the brush 7 with its concave side directed towards the brush, and a second position, in which it extends along the brush 7 with its convex side directed towards the brush. With the screen in the second position, the lower section of the screen is located next to the brush 7 in order to form a scraper. <IMAGE>
