Abstract

The self-aligning bearing (20) has a first ball race (22) with track (26) for roller bearings. On one side of the ball race (22) opposite the one facing the track (22) is a ring (38) which, together with the ball race (22) is curved and concentric. A second ball race (30) has a track (32) for roller bearings. A spacer-piece is positioned between the curved surfaces (40,42) to allow for displacement between the first track (26) and ring (38) to reduce the asymmetrical load between the races. USE/ADVANTAGE - The bearing automatically adjusts and aligns itself under load.
