Abstract

The method secures two paper surfaces together, small ridges being formed in both. At the the ridge-forming operation is carried out, the surfaces to be joined have a moisture content of between 5 and 98 percent by weight of the dry weight of the paper. This can typically be between 9 and 10 percent, and the surfaces to be joined can consist of the edges of an envelope.
